Work Integrated Training Program has transformed me from a carefree lass to a goal oriented, competitive person

My name is Ekta Goyal, and I had completed my 12th with commerce group with 78.2% from a Private School.  I belong to a middle class family and once I completed my 12th, my future loomed in front of me in the form of a question mark.

I wanted to pursue BBA from a renowned Institution, but could not pursue the same due to financial constraint. It was at this juncture that I met the Counselors of Apar India who told me about the B.Voc Degree, which is a Work Integrated Training Program, being provided by the prestigious TISS-SVE. Under this Work Integrated Training Program I was told that I would be placed for inter 6789nship right from the first semester itself and not in the final year as usually is the case.

Having understood the entire program, I took admission at the Training Hub Partner, Apar India located at Sector -8, Rohini. Apar India understood the constraints  of a student in terms of personality, communication and confidence to face the corporate world. A 12th pass student is usually protected and totally unprepared for the corporate world.  In order to overcome this problem, Apar India provided us with regular Communication Skill Development Classes, Personality Development Sessions, English Classes for almost 4 months to prepare us  for interviews for the Internship at the Skill Knowledge Partner.  The icing on the cake was that these classes were provided to us free of cost.

Within 3 months of rigorous training, we started our Internship at SMC Insurance, Noida.  Once I completed my internship there, I got the opportunity to work with an International Brand, Marks & Spencer as Customer Service Assistant.

In the very first month at Marks & Spencer, I have been awarded the “Certificate of Appreciation” for giving exceptional customer service. And the icing on the cake is that I am the first girl to get this laurel in the organization in that section.

I am the youngest of the 2 siblings and throughout my life till date I had been overshadowed by the brilliance of my 2 elder siblings aged 23 and 20 respectively, who are till now pursuing CA. But today, I feel proud that at the young age of 18, I have started earning and have started contributing towards family expenditure and am pursuing my course on my own account and am no longer financially dependent on my family.

My parents are extremely proud of me and I have discovered a new “ME”, A person who is confident, who has improved communication and a matured outlook toward life and above all I have become more competitive and have become a person with the attitude that “I’m possible” from a person who used to feel it is “impossible” whenever a challenge was thrown at me!

Thanks to Apar India for all the pains that it has taken in grooming me into a goal oriented, competitive person!!
